Jayme is a dance educator, interdisciplinary artist, community organizer and parent to an 11yo, currently living in Florence, MA. Jayme’s mother, Marlene Winell, raised them in a joyful, creative, loving, secular home. Jayme began working with Journey Free in 2006 when they helped with catering and logistics for a Retreat in Berkeley, CA. Since then they have helped with logistics like preparing educational materials, catering, and leading many somatic-based movement workshops for Retreats in Colorado, Massachusetts, and California.
Since 2025, Jayme has stepped into the leadership team and is now serving as Associate Director. Jayme’s focus is organizational longevity, education, advocacy, digital platforms, somatic-based techniques for healing and continuing to evolve the work of Journey Free into the future. They are inspired by the legacy of their mother’s work, the healing potential of being together and speaking truth to power, especially in challenging times and against great odds. Jayme’s joy and love is renewed by spending time with their husky Bella, gardening and seed-saving, dancing Salsa and making art in public.
